INTRODUCTION |
Magni Animi Viri is an Italian project, led by Giancarlo Trotta and Luca Contegiacomo. Their two different backgrounds (classic and rock) joined together and naturally created this rock-opera called "Heroes Temporis", an expensive self-production with hundreads of well-known guests: a 100 elements orchestra, a tenor, an impressive female singer, Marco Sfogli (who played for James LaBrie solo album) on guitar, Randy Coven (is an introduction needed ??) on bass and John Macaluso (Y.J. Malmsteen) on drums. Is it enough ?? |
SOUNDS LIKE ... |
… a rock-opera, of course !! A great pomposity of both vocal lines and orchestra, while the rock component is basically a symphonic hard-rock metal: do you know Gary Hughes' latest albums? Well, more or less. |
POINTS OF INTEREST |
I'm not so fond of rock-operas and I'm sure not to change my mind, but I enjoyed so much listening to it. I think all the components needed are well balanced. |
WEAK POINTS |
I think the only weak point is that it's a rock-opera, a place where classic and rock music are not free to give their best. |
FAVOURITE TRACKS |
"Finché" "Mai Più" "Desertanima" "Sai cos'è" |
RECOMMENDATION |
Rock-opera lovers or not, this is an enjoyable work, full of pleasant ideas, great sounds and varied situations. I will attend the Theatre show for sure. Recommended !! |
